Hallock Power Outages Caused by Weather

The high winds were measured by the AWOS at the Hallock airport. The winds also helped knock out the power to the AWOS.
This tornado snapped or uprooted numerous trees along its path. Several farm outbuildings, steel grain bins, and a steel pole shed were completely destroyed. One farmstead sized wooden grain elevator was completely dismantled and sections of it were thrown dozens of yards. Multiple power poles were snapped at different locations. Peak winds were estimated at 130 mph.
Many trees and branches were blown down across town. Shingles were torn off roofs and power poles were snapped. Some metal roofs, including the lumberyard storage building, were damaged in town. Some newly laid sod was blown onto a street. One tree fell on a garage and another fell on a pickup in the park.
