A power pole was damaged.
Numerous observers measured between 0.25 and 0.30 ice across Mason County. The heavy ice accumulation snapped many tree branches, caused scattered power outages, and created slick and hazardous travel conditions.
Downed power lines caused a 4-acre field fire northeast of Havana.
Westerly winds increased to around 40mph with gusts of 50-60mph. A few large tree limbs and power lines were blown down.
A tornado touched down near the intersection of 1200N and 2250E about 4.9 miles west of Easton at 4:53 PM CST. The tornado uprooted some large trees, then progressed to the NE, causing damage to power poles and tipping over many irrigation systems before it dissipated near the intersection of 2100N and 3000E about 1.9 miles east-southeast of Forest City at 5:17 PM CST.

A deep area of low pressure over northeast Kansas and an associated occluded frontal boundary arcing into west-central Illinois triggered showers and thunderstorms during the evening of March 23rd. One of the cells produced a weak tornado northwest of Mason City in Mason County. The tornado was on the ground for about 6 minutes and snapped 3 power poles along its path.
