Thunderstorm winds caused widespread tree damage, including numerous trees down. At least one tree fell on and damaged a house. Power lines were also blown down, resulting in power outages. The winds blew out two windows on a moving minivan just outside of Hornick, but the occupants of the van were not injured.

POWER OUTAGE: 1,400 customers without power in Northwest Iowa | KMEG

UPDATE: As of 5:00 a. m. , power has been restored to all MidAmerican customers in the Siouxland area. PREVIOUS STORY: Tuesday's severe weather and high winds have moved through Siouxland. Currently, nearly 1,400 MidAmerican Energy customers are reportedly without power in Northwest Iowa, About 1,300 are without power in Sioux City as of 8:30 p. m. , with several hundred also without power in Hornick. Across Iowa, over 4,000 outages are reported because of the storms.
