June 21, 2022

A cold front crossing the region during the overnight hours of the 20th into the 21st brought a band of showers and storms to northwest Wisconsin. A low level jet ahead of the front led to the storms becoming more intense as they moved across the area. These storms produced damaging winds that resulted in sporadic reports of downed trees and powerlines.

January 1, 2007

A powerful storm system moved from the southern plains through eastern Wisconsin, bringing copious amounts of precipitation to northwest Wisconsin from December 30th through the morning of January 1st. Deep tropical moisture out ahead of the storm brought heavy rains to the area on December 30th and 31st. Many areas saw over 1 inch of rain. Cold air wrapped around the system and changed the rain over to snow New Year's Eve. The snow finally ended during the early morning hours of New Year's Day, with the heaviest amounts of 6 to 12 inches reported across Ashland and Iron counties.

May 11, 2006

Heavy wet lake effect snow began to fall across Iron County on late Thursday afternoon and ended by early Friday morning. The heavy wet snow combined with wind gusts to 30 mph to down several 60 foot pine trees and numerous branches. Power was also cut to portions of southern Iron County. A few snowfall totals include: Pence at 8.0 inches, Montreal at 8.0 inches, and Hurley at 6.0 inches.

Power restored after outage in eastern Green Bay metro area | WLUK

UPDATE:Wisconsin Public Service says power was restored to all affected customers around 6:30 p. m. A piece of equipment inside one of WPS's substations caused the outage. ----- BROWN COUNTY (WLUK) -- Thousands of customers on Green Bay's east side and in Allouez and Bellevue are without power. Wisconsin Public Service's outage map showed 8,227 customers in the dark as of just after 4 p. m. The website did not list a cause of the outage.
