A trained spotter reported that power poles were down in the area and that they did not have power at their residence. Additionally, four inch diameter tree branches were broken and corn was blown down.

Tornado touched down about 0.5 miles west of Pittsburg near a cemetery and continued northeast for 3 miles just along the west edge of the Des Moines River. Along this path, 2 homes were unroofed and 4 outbuildings were destroyed. Many trees were snapped or uprooted and power poles were blown down.
