Lake Arthur Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
At least 30-40 homes and businesses were damaged when a tornado tore through Lake Arthur. Most of the damage was roof damage, although several homes had windows and walls damaged from flying debris. The water tower had a large radio antenna fall from it. Numerous trees and power lines were down.
Jennings Daily News reported several trees were blown down in Lake Arthur, with a power pole knocked down on Evangeline Street. Moderate roof damage also occurred to several structures.
An NWS Employee witnessed several trees blown down in the northern portion of Lake Arthur along Highway 14, with power knocked out to the entire town.
