Power lines were blown down on Grand Boulevard.

Widespread tree damage occurred in Rockford with trees snapped and uprooted and large tree limbs blown down. At least 150 utility poles were damaged along with power lines blown down. Hundreds of homes were damaged by falling tree limbs.

A tornado with peak winds of 100 mph touched down near Guilford Road, east of Alpine Road and traveled approximately 6 miles northeast to Argyle Road where it crossed into Boone County. Numerous trees, power lines, utility poles and fences were blown down from where the tornado touched down through the Mulford Road and Springbrook Road area. Significant tree damage occurred in a localized area near Rock Valley College. Just northeast of Perryville Road, some utility poles were broken along with extensive tree damage and minor roof and siding damage occurred to some homes. Part of the roof was blown off of a Farm and Fleet building along East Riverside Boulevard, just west of Interstate 90. A home suffered siding and roof damage and metal wall panels were blown off a building, both along Paulson Road.

Numerous trees, power lines, utility poles and fences were blown down from where the tornado touched down through the Mulford Road and Springbrook Road area. A spotter approximately four miles northeast of Loves Park estimated winds to 65 mph, while a spotter two miles east of Rockford estimated winds to 60 mph.

State Street was closed from 9th Street to Division after a large tree was blown down taking down power lines. Rockford Park District reported that 25 parks and facilities sustained some type of storm damage, mostly from fallen trees.

The tornado then blew over a school bus near the intersection of Argyle and Harlem Roads. There were six people on the bus, the driver and five children. All six people were taken to the hospital but none of the injuries were serious. The tornado then knocked down eleven electrical high tension towers just southwest of the same intersection. The tornado continued northeast into western Boone county, and moved across largely open rural fields towards the town of Caledonia. Significant damage occured to at least six buildings in Caledonia, with approximately 20 additional buildings sustaining minor damage. Several large trees were snapped or uprooted and a grain bin was partially collapsed. The tornado then continued northeast from Caledonia, downing several power poles, and causing damage ranging from blown off roofs to completely destroying at least three farm outbuildings. One of these buildings, located 2 miles northwest of Capron, had also been damaged during the January 2008 tornado. The tornado path, consisting mainly of sporadic tree damage at this point, then continued to a location roughly one mile west of Lawrence, where the tornado appears to have dissipated at 325 pm.

A large tree fell onto a house on River Lane in Loves Park. The tree caused significant damage to the porch and roof. The tree also knocked downed power lines as it fell.
