More than 6,600 customers without power in southern W.Va., eastern Ky. on Monday | WCHS
UPDATED: 8:30 a. m. , 6/20/22. Power outages are lingering for more than 5,000 customers in southern West Virginia on Monday. Nearly half of the outages – more than 2,200 – are being reported in Mingo County as of 8:30 a. m. , according to Appalachian Power. In Kanawha County, nearly 1,000 customers are without service, followed by more than 500 in Logan and 300 in Wayne.

UPDATED, 4:03 p. m. 6/17/22. Power outages for Appalachian Power customers in West Virginia soared to more than 64,000 Friday afternoon after powerful storms moved through the Mountain State. Kanawha County had the most outages as of 4 p. m. , with nearly 13,000 customers without power. Cabell and Fayette counties each had more than 8,000 customers without service, while Logan had 5,800, Mingo, 6,700, and Wayne, 4,300. Putnam County had more than 1,400 customers without service.
