April 15, 2023

Winter Weather. A band of convective showers changed over to moderate snowfall during the morning hours of January 12th. Roads became covered, with widespread slowdowns across the county. At the peak of the event, law enforcement in the county stated that traffic had come to a halt until state snow plows could get out and clear the roadways. Between 400 to 500 power outages were also reported across the county. A school closing occurred at Iberia. Total snow accumulations ranged from 3.0 inches with a public report 2 miles southeast of Lake Ozark to 4.8 inches in Eldon.

Thunderstorm Wind. A localized downburst downed multiple trees at Highway 42 and Bear Creek Road, as well as at Highways 42 and 134 blocking the road. Trees were also downed at the Lee C Fine Airport. Damage occurred to two planes at the airport and the AWOS went offline due to loss of power.
