April 5, 2023 - Ice Storm

An estimated one-quarter inch of ice accumulation from freezing rain occurred over Luce County on the morning of the 5th. Utility companies also reported many downed trees and power lines resulting in power outages impacting several thousand customers.

April 1, 2023 - Winter Storm

Social media snowfall reports from the morning of the 1st included 12 inches at Halfway Lake and Newberry. The heavy snow combined with strong northeast winds gusting as high as 45 mph caused considerable drifting of snow and widespread power outages across portions of Luce County.

October 18, 2022 - Strong Wind

North wind gusts reaching 40 mph at times caused power outages to nearly 1200 customers in the Newberry area on the 18th.

December 10, 2021 - Winter Storm

Snowfall reports over an approximate 16-hour period included 14 inches near Dollarville and 12 to 14 inches in the Newberry area. The heavy snowfall combined with north winds gusting to 35 mph at times caused power outages over portions of the county.

November 11, 2021 - High Wind

The Luce County Road Commission observed numerous large trees downed across Luce County during the afternoon of the 11th due to strong east winds. The Cloverland Electric outage map showed approximately 300 customers without power west of Newberry and south of McMillan also due to the strong winds.
