Thunderstorm wind gusts estimated at 65 mph or higher downed numerous large limbs and a few trees in the La Vista area. Power was lost in the area as well. Several tents set up for the Papillion Days festival in Papillion sustained damage because of the wind or because tree limbs fell on them.

A bowing segment of a line of thunderstorms produced areas of tree damage, some structural and vehicle damage and power outages from the south part of Omaha into Papillion and Bellevue. At Offutt Afb, a thunderstorm wind gust of 77 mph was measured at 500 am CDT and some home weather equipment in the area measured gusts over 60 mph. Around 10,500 homes lost power from the storm in southern Omaha and in Sarpy county. According to the Omaha World Herald, the worst damage occurred in an area bounded roughly from 25th to 48th streets south of Highway 370, though trees were downed or damaged in many areas of Bellevue. The Bellevue Medical Center sustained outside panel damage which allowed rain water to get inside the northwest side of the structure damaging 20 rooms and forcing 5 patients to move to different rooms.

Strong winds spread from the Papillion area across Bellevue and Offutt AFB causing scattered tree damage and downed power lines. A wind gust of 67 mph was measured at Offutt AFB at 752 pm CDT.

March 30, 2006 - Tornado

An Fo tornado touched down 3/4 mile south of the intersection of 84th Street and Capehart Road. The tornado was on the ground for 3 miles with a path width of 150 yards. The tornado downed numerous trees and power lines in its path, blew down fences and caused some structual damage to several buildings including a church at 84th and Glenwood Ave. The tornado also blew out car windows at Midlands Hospital.
