KALISPELL, Mont. - A high-voltage Padmount switch was hit in Kalispell Saturday night, causing a power outage to many in the area.

Over 8,000 Flathead Electric members were without power after a car crashed into a powerline at 3 a. m. Friday morning. Officials say even though the car caused the outage, the frigid cold and weather plays a big part. This is the second outage this month cause by colder weather. A previous outage was just a few days ago, which left 6,000 members in Whitefish without power.
