Hurricane Nicholas produced several hours of tropical storm force sustained winds and gusts. There were numerous power outages and minor to moderate damage to some structures and roofs. Trees down in areas.

Very cold air and gusty winds overspread SE Texas behind an Arctic front with wind chill indices from near zero to single digits for much the period from Sunday night to Tuesday morning. Increased power demand, wind and ice led to widespread power outages. Bursting pipes caused many to be without water as well.

Nicholas formed on September 12 in the Southwestern Gulf of Mexico, slowly advancing northeastward along the Middle Texas Coast. It eventually made landfall 10 miles west of Sargent just after midnight on September 14, with maximum sustained wind speeds of 75 mph. Heavy rain bands associated with Nicholas brought widespread rainfall totals of 6 to 10 inches to the Southeast Texas Coast, while strong wind gusts resulted in tree and structural damage as well as widespread power outages across the area. Additionally, Nicholas's surge resulted in flooding along the coast, particularly around Matagorda Bay.

Yes. No idea when power will be restored. Waiting for an estimate
The power was out yesterday at the same time but back shortly. I saw the utility crew were moving two power pole to the park yesterday using neighborhood back road and they were working on it till late evening yesterday. I am guessing they turned off the power again today to connect to the new line. I wish the city or utility’s companies should inform us.
