May 29, 2019 - Thunderstorm Wind

A trained spotter reported several power poles down and a few trees uprooted in Washington due to strong thunderstorm wind gusts and a saturated ground. A 40 mph wind gust was noted nearby in Washington.

A storage shed was blown over due to damaging thunderstorm wind gusts. Trees were also reported down and the power was out in the area.

March 1, 2017 - Tornado

This EF-2 tornado was on the ground intermittently throughout the 1.52 mile path. The maximum wind associated with this tornado was approximately 125 mph. Early on, a swath of trees were snapped at elevated heights. Later, two very large trees were snapped and a metal power line truss collapsed.

December 28, 2012 - Winter Storm

The CoCoRaHS observer, two miles northwest of Washington, measured 8.0 inches of snowfall from this winter storm. No information was available regarding any power outages or business and road closures. Schools were not in session during this event.

A tree was reported down in nearby Bicknell and power lines were reported between the nearby locations of Oaktown and Freelandville due to high, non-thunderstorm damaging wind gusts. A few power outages were reported from across county.

My wife and I are both in our eighties. My wife has a serious lung problem, and is on a nebulizer , and other breathing equipment 4 times or more per day With this hot weather her breathing is seriously compromised.
