Power Outage in Watseka, IL

Trees and power lines were blown down across Watseka.

A brief tornado occurred south of Stockland dropping just south of E 600 North Rd and east of N 2700 East Rd. The storm damaged trees and power poles and destroyed a small farm outbuilding. The tornado lifted after only a few minutes east of N 3100 East Rd and south of E 880 North Rd just west of the Illinois-Indiana state line.

Multiple large trees, large tree limbs and power lines were blown down in Watseka.

Trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down across many areas in Iroquois County including in Watseka, where some of the worst damage was in Peters Park and Hubbard Park.

Numerous trees, tree limbs, power lines and utility poles were blown down. Partial roofs were also torn off. The worst of the damage was located on the west side of Watseka.

Two and a half foot diameter tree down on house. Numerous 6 to 8 inch limbs down. Sheet metal ripped off of steel pole building. 3 power lines down just south of 400E and 2200 N.

Numerous trees of various sizes were blown down along with power poles that were snapped. Damage was noted just south of Lincoln Avenue between 2nd Street and 5th Street.

About half a dozen power poles were blown down approximately a mile south of Route 24 between Watseka and Sheldon.

Numerous tree limbs and power lines were blown down. The roof of a house on Fourth Street was damaged when a chimney was blown down and fell onto the roof. The roof of another house on Fourth Street was damaged by a falling tree. A large tree was blown down near South Fifth and Locust.

Strong winds blew across east central Illinois during the evening hours of March 31st. A grain storage bin was pulled off it's foundation on the east side of Gilman. The bin fell onto a grain dryer. Some utility poles were snapped near Piper City causing power outages.
