Some of these storms became strong enough to produce damaging winds in Prairie du Chien (Crawford County). The automated weather observing equipment at the airport measured a 66 mph wind gust and trees and power lines were blown down across the city.

A couple rounds of thunderstorms swept across western Wisconsin during the afternoon and evening of May 25th. These storms primarily produced large hail with some occasional damaging winds. The largest reported hail size was golf ball sized in Eleva (Trempealeau County). Most of the damaging wind reports were limited to Crawford County where trees and power lines were blown down between Ferryville and Lynxville and near Prairie du Chien.
