Update for Monday, October 31, 2022 - Wise County Messenger
FRIDAY STORMS CAUSE ISSUES — A fast-moving storm Friday afternoon knocked out power to hundreds of Oncor customers in Wise County. Oncor Area Manager Sabrina Easley said 187 customers lost power in the southern portion of the county, and an additional 30 in Decatur. Easley said gusty winds that accompanied the storm was the cause of the outages. Power was restored by Friday evening. First responders in the southern portion of the county also responded to reports of trees and power lines down. Rainfall amounts included 1.91 inches in Bridgeport, 1.9 in Cottondale, 1.75 in Alvord, 1.7 in Decatur and 0.35 in Greenwood. It should stay dry in Wise County most of this week before a chance of rain returns on Friday. Highs this week are expected to top out in the 70s with overnight lows in the 50s.
