Power poles were snapped in Beauxart Gardens. Southeast Texas Regional Airport also recorded a wind gust of 55 mph.
Mandatory evacuation. Storm surge flooded Sabine Pass and backed up area waterways including the Neches River, Hillebrandt Bayou, and Taylor Bayou. Numerous trees and power lines blown down across Port Arthur, Port Neches, Beaumont, Nederland, and Groves. Homes and businesses were damaged by the fallen trees, lines, and poles. Over 60 percent of the county was without power during the peak of the storm. Five people died (indirect deaths) from carbon monoxide poisoning including three in Port Arthur from a generator running in an enclosed area. Another 18 persons were injured and treated for carbon monoxide poisoning (indirect injuries). Wind gusts ranged from 55 to 90 mph across the county. Storm surge reached 3.97 MHHW at Texas Point near Sabine Pass.

The KFDM-TV mesonet measured wind gusts of 45 mph or higher at many stations between 1200 PM CST and 100 PM CST, with a peak wind gust of 53 mph at Lamar University in Beaumont. A TCEQ monitoring station in Port Arthur measured a peak wind gust of 52 mph. The KBPT ASOS measured a peak wind gust of 49 mph at 1218 PM CST. Entergy stated up to 4000 customers lost power across Jefferson County, and the public reported siding damage to homes on College Street in Beaumont.
Entergy reported over 1000 customers without power across Jefferson County, particularly in the Labelle and Hillebrandt communities.

A severe thunderstorm moved through Jefferson and Orange Counties producing tree and power line damage, however most occurred at Lamar University in Beaumont were multiple building were damaged.
Colder air plunged to the gulf coast while an upper level disturbance provided support for precipitation. Precipitation began to change to snow across the region during the evening of the 7th and accumulate. Snow lingered through much of the morning of the 8th. The heavy wet snow caused some power outages in the area and area schools to close.
Funnel clouds were reported near Beaumont and Port Arthur and lightning knocks out power to parts of Orange.
A strengthening upper level low over western Texas began to push east-northeast across southeast Texas from the morning of February 3 into February 4. At the surface, temperatures were generally above freezing, but dewpoints were well below freezing. This allowed for a mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow to develop across southeast Texas during the morning hours of February 3rd, with a changeover to all freezing rain by the afternoon. Freezing rain then continued into the morning of February 4th before ending. ||Portions of coastal southeast Texas, including the Beaumont/Port Arthur area, received around one tenth of an inch of ice accumulation. Further to the north, most of the Lakes Region of southeast Texas saw at least a trace of freezing rain. The resulting ice accumulation throughout the region caused numerous car accidents (with 1 fatality), many road closures, and some power outages.
A powerful low pressure system moved across the northwest Gulf of Mexico during the morning and early afternoon hours on January 9, producing numerous showers and thunderstorms across southeast Texas. After the precipitation moved east of the region, a wake low event caused strong east to southeast winds with measured wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph at many locations. Scattered reports of damage were received in Jefferson, Orange, and southern Hardin counties.
