Intense thunderstorm winds knocked down swaths of trees which included three dozen large trees snapped off or uprooted in the hamlet of Smallwood. A number of homes suffered extensive damage when large trees fell on them. NYSEG reported 12,000 customers without power at the peak of the storm. Winds were estimated to be 60 to 80 miles per hour.
