A transformer failure in Bridgeport is causing widespread power outages on Wheeling Island. Emergency dispatchers confirmed with NEWS9 that many residents on Wheeling Island are without power Sunday morning as a result of the transformer issue. AEP Ohio is on its way to fix the transformer located on North Lincoln Avenue, according to 911 dispatchers.
