A severe thunderstorm knocked down trees in the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold Township and large tree limbs in other sections of the township. A Skywarn spotter measured a wind gust of 52 mph at his house in Cream Ridge. The combination of lightning and damaging winds caused about 400 homes throughout Monmouth to lose power.
