A severe thunderstorm knocked down three telephone poles in Fogelsville in Upper Macungie Township. Pennsylvania Power and Light reported about 2,700 of its customers lost power with the greatest concentration of outages in South Whitehall and Upper Macungie Townships. A wind gust of 53 mph was measured at the nearby Lehigh Valley International Airport.
