Flooding occurred along the Mohawk River downstream from the Schoharie Creek. Route 5S was closed due to flooding from Route 30A in Fultonville to Route 160 in Pattersonville. Portions of Route 5 were closed due to flooding between Fort Johnson and Amsterdam. The Old Fort Johnson Historic Site in Fort Johnson was severely damaged by flood waters. It was reported that at least 20 farmers lost crops and sustained damage to farmland in the Schoharie and Mohawk valleys in Montgomery County. ||Considerable damage occurred to New York State Erie Canal Locks E-12 (Tribes Hill), E-11 (Amsterdam) and E-10 (Cransville) in Montgomery County. At Lock E-12, six upright gates were sprung and there was debris in the dam. At Lock E-11, floorbeams collapsed, upright gates were sprung, there was a heavy debris load upon dam, the lockhouse was missing, erosion occurred behind the powerhouse and the Guy Park Manor, a Revolutionary War-era residence that housed the Walter Elwood Museum, suffered a partial wall collapse and heavy erosion to the foundation. At Lock E-10, the floorbeams on spans one and two collapsed and there was a heavy debris load upon the dam gates.
