Power out for hundreds as lines are down and poles burn in the Yakima Valley | KIMA

YAKIMA COUNTY -- More than a thousand people are without power in the Yakima Valley as wind and snow has caused multiple power pole fires and power lines down. As of Monday morning between Yakima and Grandview, Pacific Power reports that more than 2200 homes and businesses are without power. In some cases Pacific Power has listed the cause as being due to trees in others Pacific Power indicates crews are still investigating.

The power has been off since 9:am this morning at the Walmart distribution center in Grandview. Delivery trucks are lined up for over a mile, and the stop lights from the freeway offramp are also out with people running through the intersections without stopping.
