March 3, 2023 - High Wind

The 911 Dispatch reported several instances of wind damage across the county that led to secondary impacts. ||These reports include:|At 7:10 PM EST - In the Hollins Fork community, a tree fell onto a powerline causing the transformer to blow. This in turn caught fire and ignited a brushfire on the surrounding terrain.|At 7:15 PM EST - A tree was blown down onto the roadway and a car ran into it.|At 7:30 PM EST - A tree fell onto a porch of a residence in the community of Mozelle.

June 22, 2022 - Thunderstorm Wind

Powerlines were down near the Dollar General on Cutshin Rd in Wooton, KY. Numerous power outages were also reported as a result.

February 14, 2021 - Ice Storm

Up to half an inch of ice accumulation due to freezing rain occurred in the higher elevations around Leslie county, with much less ice in the valleys. The weight of the ice brought down tree limbs, entire trees, and power lines around the county. The downed trees, limbs, and power lines blocked many roads.

A tree was blown down in front of Davidsons Garage on US 421. Several transformers were also blown near Hosea, including on Owls Nest Road at the ambulance service in Hyden. Part of the area was without power.
