An upper level low pressure system in the Plains states moved across the southern Great Lakes region bringing a mix of moderate to heavy snow. There was also a period of freezing rain before precipitation changed over to snow and up to around a quarter of an inch of freezing rain accumulation was reported across portions of Mason and Lake counties. Ten to 12 inches of snow also fell across much of Mason and Lake counties which resulted in hazardous travel conditions and numerous power outages.

Winter Storm. Twelve inches of snow was reported in Walhalla and Custer. There were also some power outages due to the weight of snow and freezing rain that also fell and a quarter of an inch of freezing rain was reported by the public near Custer.

Thunderstorm Wind. Wind gusts of up to near 80 mph brought down several trees across portions of Mason county. Extensive tree damage was found along a twenty mile swath starting at Tamarack Park and ending near Lake Emerson. Power poles were also destroyed along Maple road.
