Power Outage in Modoc, SC

Trees and power lines were downed on Willington Academy Dr.

A tree fell down on a power line in a yard along Gartrell Rd. The line sparked and the fire dept responded.

Reported trees and power lines down at 3047 Hwy. 23 West.

A major Winter Storm produced 1/4 inch of ice in the northern half of the county with 1/2 inch in the southern half. Around 3 inches of snow and sleet fell across the entire county. Several trees and powerlines came down causing outages in some areas.

EM reported trees down on powerlines on Hwy 28 near Richey road.

Sheriff reported trees and powerlines down in the northern end of the county around Mt. Carmel.

EM reported snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches with the heaviest amounts in the north portion of the county. Freezing rain followed the snow with ice accumulations of 1/4 inch. A few power outages were reported.

Sheriff reported trees down on power lines and a couple down on John De La Howe School on Hwy 81.

McCormick Messenger reported many trees and powerlines were taken down in the lower half of the county. A couple of trees fell on a carport damaging a vehicle.

EOC reported several trees and powerlines down around the county.

An EF1 from the supercell that developed in Lincoln continued across McCormick county taking down numerous trees and powerlines. Minor to moderate damage to several homes and mobile homes occurred. Damage locations included hwy 81 near Willington, hwy 28, and Sr 33-117.

Minor ice storm produced 1/4 inch of freezing rain on trees, powerlines, and other outdoor structures.

An F0 tornado traveled along SC hwy 19 east of Mt Carmel and took down trees and powerlines. The tornado traveled 4 miles, skipped 2 miles, then was on the ground another 3 miles. Two people suffered minor injuries when a tree fell in front of their vehicle and they crashed into it.

An F0 tornado took down trees and powerlines in rural McCormick County.

Four to 7 inches of snow fell over McCormick county taking down some trees and powerlines.
