Thunderstorm Wind. The Bert Mooney airport located four miles south-southeast of Butte reported a strong west wind gust of 53 mph due to a thunderstorm that moved through. Power companies reported six utility poles on a 50K transmission line down due to the storms in southwest Montana. This caused power outages in Silver Bow county that lasted through the night. The strong winds also caused downed trees in the Butte area.

Thunderstorm Wind. Large trees fell across roadways and power lines were knocked down in portions of Butte. A few small grass fires were reported from the downed power lines.

Thunderstorm winds moved through uptown Butte between 430 PM and 530 PM, which damaged utility poles and down trees onto several cars at Park and Main streets. About 200 people were without power from power outages in uptown Butte.
