East of Murray, a significant area of wind damage extended from Kentucky Highway 94 south to Kentucky Highway 121. Power poles were broken and trees were down along Kentucky Highway 94 between Highways 280 and 732. To the south of this damage, trees were blown down on Kentucky Highway 121. The underpinning of a trailer was blown off and the front door was blown in. Numerous trees were blown down between Kentucky Highways 94 and 121.

Southeast of Murray, several trees were damaged or blown down, and a tin roof was blown off a house. Just northeast of New Concord, a tree fell on power lines, starting a small fire.

The three-mile wide damage area in eastern parts of the county was mainly along and just south of Highway 94. Numerous large trees were snapped and uprooted, causing widespread power outages lasting 6 to 12 hours on average. Numerous roads were blocked by downed trees. At least one house was damaged by a falling tree. A resident of the house was trapped for a short time. Two houses appeared to be uninhabitable based on emergency management reports. Several barns and a garage were destroyed. A porch was ripped off a home. Scores of homes received minor roof damage. Siding was damaged on at least one house. The damage area appeared to end in eastern Calloway County, about five miles north of New Concord.

A double-wide mobile home was overturned on Kentucky 94 east of Murray. Nearby, the top of a silo was blown off.

A Kentucky mesonet site measured a wind gust to 101 mph. A number of buildings were damaged, and an industrial warehouse was destroyed. Half the roof was torn off an auto parts store. There was extensive damage to trees and power lines in the city of Murray. Some trees were down on houses. Power poles were down. Roads were blocked. An eight-foot section of siding was blown off a manufacturing plant on the north side of Murray. Two rooftop air conditioning units were blown over. Two barns were blown down. City and county schools and Murray State University were cancelled the following day due to widespread power outages and blocked roads. The county emergency operations center was set up for the first time since the January, 2009 ice storm. Veteran utility workers declared that damage exceeded that from the 2009 ice storm.

An intense microburst carved a damage swath from northwest to southeast across the city of Murray. The damage path was about 3.5 miles long and three-quarters of a mile wide. The damage began on the northwest side of town and ended near Highway 121 just southeast of town. Significant structural damage occurred as a result of peak winds estimated up to 105 mph in a very small area. The vast majority of the damage was from winds of 60 to 80 mph. Damage at Murray State University included a damaged dorm wall and many trees down. Windows were blown out on campus. Debris was blown onto cars in the campus parking lots, damaging vehicles. A batting cage at the college was blown several hundred yards into the parking lot of a bank. An Office Depot store on the north side of town along U.S. Highway 641 sustained minor to moderate roof damage. The roofs of several other buildings, including a Dollar General store, were damaged at a shopping plaza on Highway 641 in town. Much of the roof damage was minor, consisting of cosmetic materials. Debris from stores in the plaza damaged cars in a nearby parking lot. The most significant structural damage occurred to a couple of storage buildings, where roofs were blown off. The door was blown off a movie theater. Numerous trees were blown down in the city, including some that landed on houses. Downed trees and power poles blocked streets, including some major ones. In city parks, batting cages and a baseball dugout were damaged or destroyed. Power lines were down. A couple of empty 15,000-pound semi trailers were overturned.

This microburst was about 100 yards wide. Dozens of houses sustained shingle and minor siding damage. An uninhabited mobile home was blown over and destroyed. The mobile home was strapped down securely. Half a dozen barns sustained roof damage. A propane tank was moved. A few trees and power lines were blown down. An EF0 tornado occurred in the vicinity of this microburst.

Highway 94 was blocked for three to four hours by trees. One building at a seed company on Highway 299 was destroyed. Numerous trees were blown down in the southeast part of the county. A barn was blown down near Browns Grove. A number of trees and power lines were down across the county. Shingles were blown off buildings.

About one to two miles north of Murray, a barn was partially unroofed, and a mobile home was shifted off its foundation. Trees and power lines were down in far northern parts of the county near Dexter. A spotter estimated wind gusts to 60 MPH about 5 miles northeast of Murray. Across the county, there were about a dozen reports of trees across roadways.

The most concentrated damage was along and a couple miles either side of Highway 121, where trees were blown down onto houses and power lines. Some houses received shingle and vinyl damage. Debris and tree limbs were blown across Highway 121. The section of Highway 121 most affected was between the community of Stella and Highway 783. As far north as the Kirksey area, some tree and power line damage occurred. One uprooted tree was blown about 25 feet onto a roadway. A field of corn and beans was layed down. Along U.S. Highway 641 several miles north of Murray, several trees were blown down.

A tree fell on a home, punching a hole in the roof and breaking out several windows. Another tree fell through power lines and onto a road. At least six homes received minor roof damage, including a few with large sections of shingles missing. Siding was blown off at least one house. Several soybean fields were layed over. A wind gust to 60 MPH was estimated at Murray High School. Multiple large trees were blown down on roads, mainly north and northwest of the city. The damage area, which was about one mile wide, primarily affected rural areas north and northwest of Murray. The significant damage was north of Highway 121.

A continuous damage path from straight-line thunderstorm winds began at the Graves County line and continued northeast, ending at the southwest edge of Murray. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down, including some that landed on cars and one home. Light structural damage occurred to roofs, and shingles were blown off. Average winds in the damage area were estimated around 65 MPH, except 85 MPH near the town of Wiswell. Including the start of the damage path in Graves County, the length of the damage area was 11 miles. The width of the damage area averaged one-half mile. The damage area ended on South 16th Street in southwest Murray.

On Highway 444 near Hamlin, a few trees were pushed over onto power lines. In a forested area on the north side of Hamlin, about a dozen trees were blown down.

Thunderstorms producing torrential downpours were nearly stationary over Calloway County, including the city of Murray, for a couple of hours. Spotters reported rainfall rates up to 2.4 inches per hour. Rainfall totals up to 4 and 5 inches occurred at Murray and Benton, mostly within two hours. In Murray, vehicles were nearly completely submerged at one apartment complex. A motorist was trapped in his submerged vehicle after attempting to cross a flooded stretch of Highway 121. He was rescued, uninjured, by passers-by. Numerous streets were flooded in Murray, and a few buildings reported some water in them. An electric substation that serves Murray State University was shut down due to potential flooding, causing power outages to several campus buildings. Across Marshall and southern Livingston Counties, the storms were moving, but multiple storms deluged the same locations. About 30,000 dollars damage was done to roads in Marshall County. Flooded roads in Marshall County included Kentucky 80 east, Kentucky 408 east, and about 20 smaller roads. In Benton, a bridge on West 9th Street was washed out, and overflowing creeks damaged a city park and a few mobile homes. Sewer lines backed up into basements across Benton. Town Creek came out of its banks and flooded the area near East 14th and Birch Streets. In the Grand Rivers section of Livingston County, flooding on Ridge Road pulled 60 feet of culvert out of the ground.
