A microburst /straight-line wind damage/ was confirmed near New Buffalo with maximum winds between 90 and 100 mph. The severe winds produced moderate damage, knocking down multiple trees, wires and utility poles. A house on Black Snake Road sustained minor structural damage. A large portion of a barn was knocked down on the 1000 block of Anderson Road. Debris on roads and downed wires caused lane restrictions on SR 17 and274. The Watts Township supervisors and Southwest Madison Township Emergency Coordinator declared a local state of emergency due to the damage and extensive power outages. ||Straight-line wind is generally any wind that is not associated with rotation.
