National Weather Service meteorologists surveyed damage in northwestern Russell County and determined that the damage was consistent with an EF-1 tornado. Winds were estimated to be around 90 mph.||The tornado touched down just southwest of Huguley Road, where it quickly intensified and snapped or uprooted numerous trees. The tornado achieved maximum intensity at this location, with winds around 90 mph. The most concentrated tree damage to mostly softwood trees was also observed. Moving quickly northeastward, the tornado crossed Capps Road, Phillips Road, Willis Valley Road, and Herring Road. A large steel truss shed was completely destroyed on Herring and lofted upward over power lines. An adjacent single family home sustained shingle damage, and a brick chimney collapsed. These were the only structures damaged in this tornado. Continuing northeastward, the tornado crossed U. S. Highway 80. Sporadic tree damage was noted along Green Dudley Road before ending at Thomas Road.

This brief tornado touched down just south of Firetower Road, then crossed the road and dissipated quickly. Damage was limited to mainly minor tree damage. However, one concentrated area at the center of the path had a grove of small to medium hardwood trees that were snapped, where maximum winds were 90 mph. One larger hardwood was uprooted in the same location. Power lines were also knocked down along Firetower Road.

A surface low intensified as it moved from southwest to northeast across Central Alabama during the overnight hours Sunday, November 16th, and into early morning hours on Monday, November 17th. As it did so, moist, unstable air surged northward to the east of the low across the Interstate 85 corridor. Severe thunderstorms developed in the warm sector and produced a few weak tornadoes, which caused tree and power line damage across portions of rural Perry, Pike, Bullock and Russell Counties.

Hundreds of trees and power lines were blown down across the county. Power was not fully restored in some locations for 4 days. At least 100 homes suffered some form of wind damage, mainly roof damage. Maximum wind gusts were estimated around 65 miles an hour. Doppler radar and ground observations indicate up to 4 inches of rain fell in a short period of time. This produced temporary flooding of some roadways. One road sustained major damage as it was washed out.

Remnants of Hurricane Frances moved northward mainly along the Alabama and Georgia state line Strong winds of 30 to 40 mph along with saturated ground conditions allowed several trees and power lines to be blown down.
