Numerous observers measured between 0.25 and 0.30 ice across Stark County. The heavy ice accumulation snapped many tree branches, caused scattered power outages, and created slick and hazardous travel conditions.

Numerous weather observers reported 6 to 9 inches of snow across Stark County. The snow was accompanied by thunder at times. Winds gusting 45-50mph created whiteout conditions and produced snow drifts of 3-5 feet deep. Numerous power outages occurred and several motorists were stranded due to the snow.

This amount of ice combined with winds gusting as high as 40 to 50 mph caused extensive damage to trees, power poles, and power lines. Several homes were damaged by falling trees and tree branches. About 5,000 people lost power for up to 4 days after the storm.

A swath of thunderstorm wind damage cut across Stark county. The winds blew down numerous trees, power lines, and corn fields. A church in Toulon also had some windows blown out.|

Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down countywide. Some of the fallen trees caused minor roof damage to a couple of homes. Some of the fallen trees also blocked numerous streets. No injuries were reported.
