Quincy Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Widespread wind damage extending from 2 miles northwest of Loraine to between Golden and Camp Point. Many trees, as well as tree limbs were blown down in Loraine, Golden and Camp Point. In Golden, a tree fell onto a house causing moderate roof damage. Also, numerous power lines and a couple of power poles were blown down. No injuries were reported.
Thunderstorm winds blew down several trees. A couple of the fallen trees landed on power lines.

Thunderstorm winds snapped off a large tree which then fell onto a garage destroying it as well as the car that was parked in it. A nearby home sustained moderate roof damage. The tree also pulled down a nearby power line.
Episodes
An ice storm hit West Central Illinois causing scattered power outages and travel problems. Ice accumulations on trees and other overhead surfaces averaged around .25 inch with about 1/2 inch of sleet also falling.
Freezing rain began falling the evening of the 17th and continued into the early morning hours of the 18th. Ice accumulations were generally around one quarter of an inch with a few location approaching one half inch. There were scattered power outages reported across the region.
An ice storm struck west central and parts of southwest Illinois leaving up to one half inch of ice accumulation and up to one inch of sleet. Numerous trees and power lines were reported down across the area. Some businesses had to close due to power loss and most schools were closed for a couple of days.
Storm spotters reported trees down in Loraine. A couple of power poles were blown down in Quincy at the intersection of Route 48 and State Street.
A narrow band of freezing rain hit parts of West Central Illinois. Broken tree limbs fell on power lines causing power outages across the southeast half of Adams County into Brown County.

UPDATE: Power was restored around 4:16 p. m. to all Ameren customers impacted by an outage earlier on Friday in Quincy. The power went out to 2,665 homes and businesses between Harrison St. and Maine St. and 24th and 30th around 2:45 p. m. on Friday, according to the company's online outage map.
