Strong thunderstorm winds brought down several trees and wires and snapped a power pole.
Snowfall combined with winds frequently gusting over 35 mph to create blizzard conditions. The winds were strongest during the afternoon and evening of the 2nd. There were trees knocked down along with power outages and considerable blowing and drifting snow. Whiteout conditions were common. Total snowfall ranged from 15 to 23 inches.
High winds developed during the early evening hours on Monday 29th and lasted into early morning hours on Tuesday the 30th from Hurricane Sandy. The high winds knocked downed trees and power lines across parts of the county. Peak sustained winds were estimated between 30 and 40 with peak wind gusts estimated at 60 mph. During the height of the storm late in the evening, there were an estimated 2,000 customers without power.
