Powell County dispatch reported sporadic tree damage across the county. A tree was reportedly blown down onto power lines, taking them down as well, approximately 1 ENE of Stanton at 11:45 PM EST, March 30th. Additional reports of trees blown down onto Thorpe Ridge, Cane Creek, and Black Creek roads were received early on the 31st.
A tree is on a 3-phase powerline along Spout Springs Road. The road is closed and repairs are ongoing.
A tree was down on a powerline along Brush Creek Road north of Clay City.
A tree is down on a power line and blocking Furnace Junction Road.
Heavy accumulations of ice from freezing rain brought down trees along Highway 11 in Powell county, at the 25 MM. The trees fell onto and brought down phone and power lines in that same area. Freezing rain was ongoing at time of report.
