Stickney Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Thunderstorm winds in an apparent downburst pulled a steel roof from a publishing company building and blew it into a power pole, breaking the pole at its base, and leaving residents of Stickney without power for over two hours. Part of the roof was pushed into trees near the building. A television tower at the side of the building was twisted and blown down. A nearby shed was destroyed, and the vehicle parked inside damaged. The damage was very localized with nearby corn crops blown down, next to undamaged corn.
