Warsaw Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Numerous trees and power lines were downed due to the ice accumulation. The cooperative observer northwest of Glencoe measured 0.15 of ice accrual.
Trees and power lines were downed to the east of Warsaw due to thunderstorm winds. Two of these trees were located along Ambrose Road off of Highway 42.
Snow, sleet, and freezing rain caused a large disruption to the region. Mixed precipitation cut snowfall totals significantly, with 2.5 inches of snow on the ground before this occurred. In southern portions of the county, icing downed trees onto power lines which caused numerous outages.
Strong winds of 40 to 50 miles per hour were sustained for several hours. Gusts over 60 mph were common. Widespread damage occurred across the region, from trees being blown down on powerlines to significant structural damage.
Several trees and powerlines were blown down across the county. Roof damage occurred for a few structures.
