Winfield Power Outages Caused by Weather

Thunderstorm winds blew down numerous power lines onto Highway 47 near the juncture with Highways H and J west of Troy. Also, 4 to 5 power poles were snapped off on about 4 feet above the ground on North Moore School Road west of Troy. In Winfield, a 5 inch diameter poplar tree was snapped off.
Thunderstorm winds caused a wide swath of damage extending from Troy to Winfield. Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down. In Winfield, winds were estimated around 80 mph. Several garage doors were caved in and various lawn and play equipment were blown around. Also, several dozen large trees were blown onto highways, blocking them for a time.
Numerous trees and power lines were blown down between Troy and Winfield along Highway 47.
Local law enforcement reported numerous large tree limbs and some power lines down across town.
