Thunderstorm Wind. Several trees and power lines were downed by thunderstorm winds mostly in the northern portion of the county.

Winter Storm. Skywarn-trained weather spotters and members of the general public observed ice accumulations from freezing rain ranging from 0.13 to 0.4 inches in thickness across portions of Monroe County, including around the communities of Wayside, Bozoo and Gap Mills. Sleet accumulations of 1 to 1.5 inches were observed in these same communities, while snowfall accumulations of 0.5 to 2 inches were also observed. Key impacts: power outages; hazardous travel conditions; tree damage; schools closed.

Thunderstorm Wind. Thunderstorm winds downed hundreds of trees and many power lines across the county. The greatest concentration of downed trees was to the north and west of Union. The damage extended into the Lindside area where a tree fell onto a moving vehicle. One occupant of the vehicle sustained scrapes and bruises. Damage values are estimated.

Ice Storm. There was 0.25 inch of ice at Union. Ice brought one power line down at Nimitz, resulting in a power outage for 50 people which lasted for a few hours.
