A severe thunderstorm knocked down several trees and wires throughout Cecil County. The combination of damaging winds and lightning caused about 2,000 homes and businesses in the county to lose power. Power was not fully restored until the afternoon of the 21st. Heavy rain from the thunderstorm also flooded Delaware Avenue in Elkton.
A couple of trees and wires were pulled down by a severe thunderstorm in and around Chesapeake City. About 6,000 homes and businesses lost power because of the severe thunderstorms and lightning in Cecil County.
