Cumberland Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
The local utility company reported that multiple trees were blown down onto power lines along KY-221 near the junction of KY-1780. The trees broke the cross arms on 3 power poles which allowed the lines to fall on the ground.
A member of the public reported that 8.3 inches of snow had fallen since midnight near Gatun. Two to six inches of wet snow coated power lines and tree limbs. Some eventually broke and fell onto nearby power lines which caused some power outages.
Ten to fifteen large trees were blown down near Molus. One tree fell across a highway. A number of homes and businesses were without power until after midnight.
Law enforcement officials reported numerous downed trees, large limbs, and power lines in a swath from Bledsoe to Smith.
Trees and power poles were snapped by thunderstorm wind gusts. The winds also blew siding off a home.
