The City of Georgetown experienced a power outage caused by a loss of energy transmission from Santee Cooper, according to a city government Facebook post. According toTracy Vreeland with the City of Georgetown, there was a logging crew cutting down a tree that hit a wire on one of the transmission poles. When the wire was hit, the pole came down. Crews have since redirected power and it has been restored to all customers in the area.
