A line of severe thunderstorms produced a swath of 70-75mph winds across central and western portions of Grenada County on the afternoon of May 4th. Numerous trees and power lines were downed along with a shed that had its roof torn off. In particular, much of this damage occurred in the Sweethome community where some of this wind damage created a swath of three to four miles long and a mile wide.
A mix of sleet, snow, and freezing rain fell from the afternoon into the overnight hours. New sleet accumulations were between 1.0 to 2.0 inches across the county, and ice accumulations in trees and on power lines were at least 0.10 inches by late evening.
