Hollister Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
A tornado developed 4 miles southwest of Hollister and moved northeast and then east to 2.5 miles southeast of Hollister. Power poles were snapped along County Road N2280 and on State Highway 54. There was also significant wind damage south of the tornado associated with the rear-flank downdraft..
South of the tornado that passed south of Hollister, very strong winds associated with the read-flank downdraft area of the storm also produced significant damage. A power pole was damaged near the intersection of county roads E1880 and N2280. Farther east, a trailer was rolled and blown into the road along SH-54. A storm chaser in the vicinity of this location estimated RFD winds of approximately 100 mph.
Around 110 power poles were downed including several double poled transmission poles. Windows were blown out of 10 homes, a newly constructed barn was destroyed and numerous trailer homes and outbuildings had tin lifted from their roofs. Also, multiple trees were downed. Time estimated from radar.
A tornado developed south of Hollister and moved east-southeast to just southwest of Loveland. Power poles and one outbuilding and were damaged.

Here in hollister 850 Hillcrest rd, we live in a apartment and got fixed around 1:30 am, but half of the apartments don’t have power and the other half do. I called but no answer..! I have a newborn baby too, and we are so hot. Please call them and report. It’s the villa luna apartments.

The power finally shut off for the first time, still around 99 degrees. Hottest I've seen it so far here in Hollister.
