Power Outage in Jerseyville, IL

A wide swath of damaging winds moved through the Jerseyville and Fidelity areas. Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down.

Thunderstorm winds blew down several power poles onto U.S. Highway 67 south of Jerseyville near Crystal Lake Road.

A line of severe storms moved across Jersey county blowing down numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines. In Jerseyville, a microburst caused extensive damage to two businesses. One business sustained roof and window damage and the other just had its windows blown out. Several of the large trees that fell, fell onto unoccupied vehicles causing severe damage. One tree fell onto a patio roof collapsing it. Several witnesses from Jerseyville indicated that winds of 60 mph and greater occurred for approximately 3 to 5 minutes with the strongest gusts occurring near the early stages of heavy rainfall.

A weak tornado formed in rural east Jersey County on Gun Club Road and 1500 North. The tornado traveled east northeast and damaged large trees and some power poles.

Local law enforcement reported 1 inch hail in Jerseyville and nickel size hail in Nutwood. Thunderstorm wind gusts downed several power poles at the intersection of Highways 16 and 100 just west of Fieldon.

The Sheriff Department reported 3/4 inch hail and power lines down in Jerseyville. Power lines were also downed in Fidelity.

Local law enforcement reported a swath of wind damage from just south to just northeast of Jerseyville. Trees and power lines were down and there was some minor roof damage.

Local law enforcement reported trees down in Kemper and trees and power lines down on Highway 16 east of Jerseyville.

Thunderstorm wind gusts downed trees and power lines across southern Jersey County. Trees were reported down along Route 100 near Elsah, on Powerline Road in Grafton, and in Belltrees.

Severe storms caused scattered wind damage across Jersey County. Large trees were reported down in the Kemper and Jerseyville areas. Power lines were also down.

Thunderstorm wind gusts damaged the roof of a mobile home in Grafton. Numerous trees, power lines and advertising signs were downed as well.
