Taylor County S.O. reported power poles and trees blown down in Merkel and Trent.
Power lines were blown down just west of Merkel.
A weak tornado, possibly a gustnado was observed at the Big Country Truck Stop just east of Merkel. Several eyewitness accounts report seeing the twister move across the far end of the parking lot and then move across Interstate 20. Other than power poles being snapped, no damage was noted.

TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Taylor Electric Co-op issued a warning Monday evening about a planned outage for this coming Thursday.

UPDATE: Taylor County Sheriff's Office posted an update to their social media on the incident. According to the post, Derrick Holdridge is in custody and is being charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and State Jail Felony Criminal Mischief for disrupting the electrical service. Taylor County Electric responded to a power outage on Derstine road, where there was a man who fired several shots in the air.
