The non-thunderstorm wind gust (decaying thunderstorms south of the county) damaged the roof of the Knox City Hospital. A trampoline was thrown onto power lines, with numerous power outages reported.

Thunderstorms developed ahead of a slow moving outflow boundary that was located near the Red River by early evening. Heavy rain and gusty winds were common in the thunderstorms, but one tstorm caused damage to outbuildings and power lines near Knox City.

June 19, 2008

Supercell thunderstorms developed over the Texas panhandle during the afternoon hours and moved southeast into parts of Knox county by early evening. Large hail to golfball size, strong winds, and heavy rainfall were reported as the storms moved through the county. Tree and power line damage was reported in Knox county, with no other damage reported. Monetary damages were estimated.
