Lightning started several fires, including a transformer fire at the intersection of Elm and Sixth Streets. Power outages were reported in town as lightning hit power lines, causing fuses to blow. Two oil tank fires were also started by lightning, one north of town on County Road 425, and the other on County Road 350 south of town.
