August 23, 2019 - Thunderstorm Wind

Power lines were down and debris was strewn across Texas Highway 23 and County Road C, blocking traffic.

January 14, 2017 - Ice Storm

Resident count of 701 affected. There were 12 business that also reported economic injuries. Damages and economic impact also resulted from: debris cleanup (downed trees, etc), numerous downed power lines and broken power poles, and damaged to roads and bridges.

June 3, 2013 - Hail

A line of thunderstorms developed across the northeastern Texas Panhandle shortly after 11 PM CST on the 3rd. This line quickly strengthened as it moved to the east. As this line moved east of Booker (Lipscomb County) the Booker Fire Chief reported penny (0.75 inches) and frequent lightning. The lightning caused power to flicker a couple times at the fire house. This line continued to move to the east across the Panhandle and entered western Oklahoma shortly after midnight on the 4th.

The public reported 0.10 inches of ice, and power outages across Darrouzett due to ice on power lines.

January 28, 2008 - High Wind

The roof was blown off of a grocery store knocking down power lines and causing damage to cars in the nearby parking lot. No injuries were reported.

September 18, 2011

The Perry 23 Wildfire began around 1100 CST about nine miles northeast of Wolf Creek Park in western Lipscomb County in the northeast Texas Panhandle. The wildfire began just one half mile east of Texas State Highway 23 and roughly one mile south of Perry Road. The wildfire consumed three hundred and twenty acres and was caused by downed power lines. There were no structures damaged and there were no reports of injuries or fatalities. The wildfire was contained around 2100 CST.
