The combination of damaging winds and lightning from a line of severe thunderstorms caused slightly more than half of Cape May County to lose power during the evening of the 23rd. Outages were concentrated from Middle Township north through Ocean City. Power restoration was easier in the county than other places and by noon EDT the next day (24th), the number of customers without power was down to 70.
